Post subject:  Non-Default Sprites

This will hopefully be my last query about this fine piece of kit.

I've noticed that someone posted a topic about a golf-ball teleporter, and s/he had custom made sprites for the grid and the projectile. Looking round on the P:X (0.6.5 or whatever) scheme ed, I can change the sprite shown on the grid, but only the ones on the default weapon palette (e.g bazooka, sheep etc.), but I can't change the projectile sprite at all.

I've noticed in the folder theres a spritedump.ddd and spriteviewer.dat, and they probably have something to do with it but I dont know.

Can anyone give me a guide on how to add custom sprites for the grid/projectiles to use in P:X, if possible, or is it only possible on 0.8?

Thanks for the help upfront.

If you've got any trouble understanding what I mean, ill take a few screens

[EDIT] Sprite Overriding looks promising. But I don't have a clue how to use it

Yep, it's possible with 0.6.5..

You can create your own sprites or use default sprites.

About creating a sprite :
    1) Draw it from Gfx.dir (you can find this file at C:/Team17/WormsArmageddon/DATA/Gfx). Change .dir to .bmp to open it.
    2) Save it to .dir file
    3) Then add it to the attached files at the PXSchemeEd
    4) Now open " sprite overriding ". We need to replace one of the sprites with the sprite you made, so better replace an empty sprite ( 700 and more ).
    5) A sample screen
    6) You can apply the sprite at the Weapons editor ( animation settings ).

You should understand how to use default sprites then :P

I've tried changing the file type to a .bmp, then it corrupts, when I try to open it in any viewer. Hmmm... Any chance I could have a gfx.bmp file to work from?

Yeah. Check http://worms2d.info/WA_directory_editor out, you can probably extract the whole DIR file.
