Well i have a idea as you read in the title.
In a game called Faster Than Light you have to go through stars, fight enemy ships, buy weapons, systems and subsystems:
There is ONE system called drones systems, were you're able to control defense and attack drones there its other type of drones that repairs systems and fights enemies. But i dont want to talk about that, i want to talk about flying drones.
Here is the idea:
-------HOW THIS DRONE CAN WORK?-------
Attack drone it's like sentry turret and Defense drone it's like laser turret:
When the worm places the weapon, it must be in the outside of the map: WHY? if it touch the terrain, it explodes.
This must be something like this:
WEAPON HAS A 'CLUSTER', wich it's the weapon that we are talking about.
The detonating time can be 3000 MS (3 seconds), this can give the drone the enough time to elevate and work in his function.
Gravity of the weapon can be like zero gravity for 3 Seconds, then the weapon 'explodes' leaving his cluster, wich it's the drone.
The gun can be a rotating texture, hard to do.
-------WHY I POST THIS HERE?-------
As you can see, if im doing this post ill dont do this weapon, im not a experienced developer because i born on 2002, Argentina. And i actually have 14 years old, so i simply don't know how to do this.
So i have a good idea and i think that in worms it can be a nice idea for KTK or HL modes, this can be a "nerfed edition" for these modes, the drone can explode when it wastes 30 bullets, in the defense drone: 10 items destroyed
